Rolling Extension Table for Lodge Cast Iron

Crafted for the Culinary Studio at the Lodge Cast Iron Factory and Museum

This was a big one, measuring in at 48” wide and expanding from 72” when closed to 96” with both leaves in place. Constructed from solid White Oak with wide, thick planks and chunky tapered legs, it’s a very hefty piece but was made mobile with the addition of some heavy duty locking casters, allowing for it to be easily maneuvered around the space as needed while maintaining a strong foundation. The interior is lined with worsted wool for safe storage of the leaves when not needed, and also houses the superb hardware that travels within the base allowing for extension without having to move the legs or use a split rail system. It was topped with multiple applications of a hand-rubbed oil/wax finish, which provides a supple and soft texture with plenty of protection and an ease of touch up and cleaning, while also toning the color slightly whiter to prevent any yellowing or ambering as it ages.
